« Caution: Rant Ahead »

For some unknown, bizarre reason, professors seem to think that we have nothing better to do over Thanksgiving break than to do homework. Actually the opposite was true, I was busier over thanksgiving break than I normally am on the weekends.

Here are all the assignments I have due this week:

  • Communications speech
  • Operating Systems homework
• Wednesday:
  • Physics quiz
• Thursday:
  • Software engineering group project
  • Software engineering homework
  • Physics lab paper
  • Communications final presentation
• Friday:
  • Hopefully I’ll live to Friday and get to sleep all day

sigh. Oh well, time to get cracking!

At least this is my last semester, I’m going out with a bang!

Paul writes in Ephesians 4:21-24,

“So Long Self” by MerceMe in the album Coming Up to Breathe puts this in a witty song. The format is the same as many love / breaking up songs. However, it is a song about how were are to forsake our old selves and follow Christ.

Well if I come across a little bit distant,it’s just because I am.Things just seem to feel a little bit different,you understand.Believe it or not but life is not apparentlyabout me anyways.But I have met the One who really is worthy,so let me say

Thanks everyone for all your prayers! As some of you know, I’ve been wanting to teach English in China, but have been deliberating between two different groups. With the Lord’s help, I was finally able to make a decision . I will be teaching English with TeachOverseas and will be leaving around the last week of January.

I will be teaching English to IT professionals in the northern part of Beijing. One of my friends, Michael, has been in Beijing learning Chinese and will be returning around around the same time. It will be cool to spend time with him in China

A little bit of if Chinese for you  :

Something really strange happened to me this week. I was going over mycredit card statement and there were four separate transactions listedwith a architectural magazine. I knew that I never subscribed to such amagazine ( especially since I am a computer scientist, not anarchitect ), so I gave them a call.

However, what I found was very surprising.

It turns out that these were not charges but credits. Somehowthe magazine was alerted that someone had tried to charge four giftsubscriptions on my credit card. So, they immediately canceled theorders and credited my card for the four charges.

The funny thing was that I was never charged for those amounts, sosomehow the magazine mistakenly thought that I was changed and give meabout $300, free. I called them up to let them know the error that theyhave made, but they said that everything was fine according to theirrecords.

It’s kindof funny to get my statement and see that I have a negativebalance, meaning that the credit card technically owes me money

My friend, Shelby, showed me this. It is really amazing how small harddrives have gotten.

And the amazing thing is, there are already 2 or 5 gig flash drivesthat are even smaller than the ones pictured here!Click for full size image
